The IFRC Americas Regional MHPSS Team invites you to an open forum on
Grief & Loss
About this event:
Dealing with loss is never easy, and during the pandemic the challenges have been even greater. Learning and understanding the grieving process can help and comfort those who are going through it.
Understanding what complications can be generated during this process and understanding when to seek help is essential. Also, normalizing the common feelings and reactions can be reassuring to those going through this.
Raising awareness among people close to those who are grieving is also very important, showing how to support in a way that respects everyone's feelings.
To help volunteers/staff of the National Societies (NSs) of the Caribe to identify the stages of the grief and help them to copy with it. It is also to help them to understand what is complicated grief and the differences between normal grief reactions and depression that can be occasioned from a complicated grief.
Additionally, is also to discuss about how to support people during their grief process, the DOs and DON’Ts, fostering a supportive environment among volunteers/staff of the NSs.
