Meet the CADRIM  Team!

As part of the IFRC Caribbean Delegation, our team comprises of 6 technical experts from Trinidad & Tobago, Costa Rica & Jamaica. Together we work to support 13 Caribbean National Societies  and various IFRC units and teams.

Renee Thomas, Manager

Renee joined the Red Cross Red Crescent family a little under 3 years ago and specializes in training and knowledge management. As the Manager of CADRIM, she leads a team of technical experts who assist Caribbean National Societies and partner organizations globally to investigate, analyse and develop knowledge on how to strengthen community resilience through sustainable preparedness and risk reduction activities.

Ahmad Khan, Information Management Officer

Ahmad joined the IFRC Caribbean Office four years ago as an Information Management Specialist. As part of the CADRIM Reference Center team, he is keenly responsible for collecting and analysing data coming from Red Cross community interventions and the creation of visual data products that contribute to the overall mapping of community resilience. These data products are used to inform Red Cross community resilience building programmes and how we promote and engage with our most vulnerable communities while simultaneously increasing the national society’s resilience by building capacities in these areas.

Akash joined the Red Cross Red Crescent Family in January 2023 as a Learning and Training officer under the Enterprise resource planning (ERP) programme. He along with CADRIM colleagues liaise with Team Leads in Geneva to create learning and training materials that would be used to educate staff throughout the IFRC in their specific departments.

Emmanuel Rodriguez

Tanesha Thompson

Tanesha joined the IFRC five years ago and has served in various capacities in Emergency Operations, Disaster Risk Management and Health sectors within the organization. In her current position of Learning and Training Officer for CADRIM, she is responsible for providing technical support in learning, training, and research for Caribbean Red Cross Societies, as well as overseeing the implementation of research projects, such as the regional KAP Study commissioned by CARPHA.

Vanita joined the IFRC 2 years ago as the principal Research Assistant, supporting National Societies to build their capacities in community-based disaster risk reduction. As a member of the CADRIM team, she contributes to resilience and capacity building through the production of evidence-based research reports, the creation of training materials and tools and updating existing programmes like the Community Disaster Response Team (CDRT) curriculum. Her work also contributes to the advancement of EWS initiatives through the exploration of national and local level capacities as it relates to Early Warning Systems.
