About the IDRL SIMEX
The IDRL SIMEX is a table-top exercise, where a fictional disaster event is created for the purpose of testing the plans and procedures that would come into effect during a real emergency, helping to identify strengths and weaknesses. The main purpose of this exercise will be to test the laws, policies, plans, protocols and institutional arrangements in Guyana relevant to international disaster assistance. Additionally, it will be an opportunity to test the Model IDRL provisions developed by the Regional IDRL Working Group for the Comprehensive Disaster Management (CDM) Model Legislation within the context of Guyana.
This event is funded by the “READY 360 / 3 Oceans” Project which is led by the French Red Cross, through its Regional Intervention Platform for the Americas and the Caribbean (PIRAC), co-funded by the INTERREG Caribbean Program under the European Regional Development Fund and Agence Française du Développement AFD and Fondation CMA-CGM.
